Acupuncture NZ has worked closely with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Therapeutic Advertising Pre-vetting Service (TAPS) to produce a concise but comprehensive guideline for acupuncture practitioners to reference when advertising their businesses in print or on line.

The guidelines are intended to provide background information and informal guidance on advertising acupuncture services. The Medicines Act 1981, the Therapeutic Services Advertising Code as well as the Rules and Professional Code of Ethics of our organisation have been considered when putting this document together.

With the popularity of acupuncture treatment growing every year it is essential that practitioners understand the implications of claims made in advertising. This new guideline will go a long way in ensuring that the information provided to the general public is honest, clear and unambiguous.
