Shonishin is a school of Paediatric Acupuncture that first evolved in the Osaka region of Japan in the 18th century.
The energetic and developmental physiology of children is distinct from adults and therefore their treatment must take this into account.
Shonishin has developed a simple, non-invasive but profound treatment protocol and techniques that can be used from birth through to adulthood.
The basic non-pattern treatment can be readily modified for various paediatric presentations and include pattern-based treatments from the Meridian Therapy school.
The basic protocol can be easily taught to parents and caregivers so they can maintain treatments between clinic visits using common domestic implements.
What you will learn in this Introductory Workshop;
- An outline of the energetic physiology of children,
- Demonstration of a range of specialized and readily available Shonishin tools,
- An introduction to, and the practice of the basic non-invasive protocol and treatment techniques [wear loose clothing],
- Treatment suggestions for some common paediatric
