Join Me (Ada Sobieszczuk) for a Weekend Exploring the Sinew Channels

I’d love to invite you to join me for a weekend exploring the Sinew Channels (Jing Jin).

These are the most exterior channels of the body, described in Chapter 13 of the Ling Shu as the “muscle channels”. These pathways animate movement through the body’s structure. What’s remarkable is how these classical descriptions align closely with what modern fascial therapists describe – the same connective tissue networks identified by pioneers such as Ida Rolf.

In this workshop, we’ll map these channels and learn to feel them not as abstract lines, but as being manifest as resonance in the living, responsive tissues carrying Wei Qi, the body’s warming, moving and defensive Qi.

The Sinews offer a profound and practical way to work with pain and restriction. We’ll learn to release cold through the Jing-Well points (the only point on the Sinew channel). Rather than treating the area that hurts, we’ll ask what movement brings the pain on, because each Sinew channel governs specific movements, and pain reveals which one is affected.

Once the correct diagnosis is made, through movement assessment, using classical treatment protocols to release trapped Wei Qi can bring about seemingly miraculous results, often with speed and clarity that feel staggering. Clinically, treatment of the Sinews dramatically supports recovery from injuries, surgeries, fractures, and even concussion. Once the Wei Qi moves again, the tissues reorganise and the body’s natural
integrity returns.

What You’ll Learn
Over these two days, you’ll:
• Learn the classical theory of the Sinew channels and their relationship with Wei Qi.
• Discover how to correctly diagnose which Sinew channel is affected (which is not always where the pain presents).
• Observe two live case studies demonstrating these principles in action.
• Practice the techniques hands-on with your fellow attendees to develop a confident, embodied sense of how they work.

By the end of the weekend, you’ll feel more equipped to treat pathogenic factors trapped at the musculoskeletal level, whether they appear as pain, stiffness, weakness, chronic or recurring injuries, new or old scars, or post-surgical adhesions.

About the Series
This weekend is the first in a four-part training series exploring the Complement Channels – the Sinews, Luo, Divergents and the Extraordinary Vessels. Together, these channels form the complete system beyond the Primary channels, offering a clear and effective way to understand and treat every person who walks through your door. Taken together, they create a coherent, comprehensive map for clinical work.
