Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are invited from acupuncture, allied and mainstream clinicians and academics under the conference theme Tradition and Modernity, with sub themes for education, clinical practice and research.

The word limit for the abstract is 300 words and it will appear in the online abstract book exactly as submitted.

Presentation Formats

There are two presentation formats to choose from:

  • Workshop presentations

Workshops encourage active involvement of participants. The workshop should be designed as an interactive session with specific objectives related to one or more of the conference themes. Workshops can run for 90 or 180 minutes.

Workshop abstracts should be structured as follows: Background, Objectives, Workshop format, and Expected outcomes. Maximum 300 words.

  • Oral Presentations

Oral presentations have the duration of 30 minutes: 22 minutes for your presentation, 5 minutes for questions and three minute to allow participants to change rooms. After the 27 minutes, the “Timekeeper” in the room will ask the presenter to conclude the talk.

Selection Criteria

All abstracts will be considered based on the information in the submission and will be assessed according to the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the conference themes and objectives
  • Originality of the work
  • Quality of the abstract, including a clear connection between the issue being addressed, the work undertaken, the outcomes of the work and implications for the profession
  • Priority will be given to submissions that present original work, link to evidence, and demonstrate innovation and critical thinking.
