A recent study carried out in Auckland and Wellington by Mike Armour, acupuncturist and researcher from the Western Sydney University, found that acupuncture treatment reduced menstrual pain intensity and duration after three months of treatment. Importantly, the effects of the treatment were found to be sustained for up to 12 months from the beginning of the trial.
