At the recent AGM in Wellington changes to the Council were announced.

After eight years at the helm of NZRA, Paddy McBride chose not to seek re-election at this year's AGM which was held at the Rydges Hotel in Wellington over the weekend of 14-16 August 2015. Throughout the past eight years Paddy has worked tirelessly to promote the use of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine as a viable form of health care for all New Zealanders. Paddy will stay on the Council for one more year as Immediate Past President as she hands over to the new President.

The new President is Angela Harding from Christchurch. Angela has been a member of NZRA/Acupuncture NZ for the past 11 years but has been involved with kung fu and tai chi for considerably longer.

Also moving on was our Central Regional Representative, Belinda Falconar. Belinda has been on the Council for the past year and has made great progress in re-establishing regular study groups for the Wellington members. Joining us on Council as the new Central Regional Representative is Kate Roberts. This is Kate's second foray onto the Council, having left us several years ago when her daughter was born. Well known as a lecturer at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and TCM, Kate is also undertaking her own PhD studies through the University of Otago.
