Following the announcement by the Prime Minister yesterday that health services can resume once New Zealand moves to Level 2, members of Acupuncture NZ are preparing their clinics for the return to work from Thursday morning.

Comprehensive and clear instructions have been sent out to all members regarding health and safety requirements for reopening. Additionally on Tuesday morning, Robin Kerr, President of Acupuncture NZ, hosted an online meeting for members to go through what was required and to answer questions that memebrs had about re-opening their clinics.

All practitioners will be required to pre-screen patients before arrival at the clinic and to follow closely the Ministry of Health requirements regarding hygiene and physical distancing once patients do arrive.

Members of Acupuncture NZ have been encouraged to update their clinic Health and Safety Plans over recent weeks and the AcNZ Council have reviewed documentation to ensure compliance with the new requirements regarding Covid-19.

Chinese medicine colleagues in Australia have been able to continue working throughout the period of lockdown and have found their services to be greatly appreciated by the general public. New Zealand practitioners are looking forward to returning to work later this week and to being able to again assist in the provision of health care for all New Zealanders.
