Acupuncture NZ and ACC are coming together to provide a series of workshops for AcNZ memebrs over the coming months. As well as presenting at our conference in August, ACC will begin with a zoom workshop on Thursday 13 May from 7-8pm. The topic for the first workshop will be "Cover and Causation" and will entail a half hour lecture followed by a question and answer session.
The session will be led by Peter Burt, an ACC Clinical Advice Manager. Peter's team of medical advisors give clinical advice about claim cover, and whether requests for funding for supports such as additional treatment and weekly compensation meet the ACC criteria.
Peter is a graduate of the University of Otago in Phys.Ed (in kinesiology), Medicine and Masters Health Science, and University of Auckland with Diplomas in Sports Medicine, and Obstetrics. He is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. He’s worked in GP practice as well as with numerous sports teams including NZ’s commonwealth and Olympic bike teams.
Outside of ACC Peter lectures in the Department of Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Otago, and is a member of the FIBA basketball world cup medical commission.
